The European Green Deal (EGD) launched in 2019 as the new European growth strategy aims to make the EU climate neutral by 2050 through a framework for existing and new EU policies on climate action, the green transition and environmental protection. It is imperative that the implementation of the EGD is rooted in evidence around its results and impacts in terms of various benefits for health, quality of life and economic opportunities. In this context, this study aims to collect a systematic set of evidence-based information and quantitative data (to the extent such is available) on the different EGD strands in order to provide an overview of progress and an overview of impacts of the different EGD policies at local and regional level.
