The main aim of this report is to provide key quantitative information to the European Commission and EU/EFTA  States to ensure better implementation and initiatives to support workers' right to free movement. While reports  based on different national sources are published from time to time (see section on national sources), and EU-
wide reports often focus on intra-EU mobility in general, information specifically on intra-EU labour mobility using  harmonised and comparable data across the EU is not regularly available.

This report focuses on  the main countries of residence of these movers, on their characteristics (age, citizenship, length of residence) and provides an indication of the main countries of destination in 2012. It also provides information on the employment rates and labour market status of mobile workers as well as on their professional status and on their distribution across employment sectors and occupations compared to nationals. Finally, this report  shows the mobility patterns of new young movers and it analyses the education level of recent EU-28/EFTA movers.
